The sunday just past, Rev C shared about "depression". He mentioned that the way to deal with depression is to exercise "realistic thinking".
1. Gather the accurate facts about the situation
2. Picture the worst case scenario
3. Utilize whatever resources you have and hope in God for the best
Experienced the 3 steps recently in my experience at work.
Faced a bit of a crisis at work about 2 weeks back. To cut the long story short, I was super worried that we made a wrong decision and if that was so, we would face some rather dire consequences. As usual, I got all uptight, nervous and depressed, to a point where I could not even start to work.
Turning point: I emailed some sisters and asked them to pray for me.
I decided I should stop worrying but get down to the drafting and researching. I already had the worst case scenario in mind, but what could I do? I could only start getting down to the work and hope for the best. True enough, God led me through the whole process, bit by bit and I am now just hoping in God for the best outcome.
It's not so bad afterall. =)
So ya.. saw the 3 principles at work through this whole incident.
Hopefully I will learn to do the same whenever I fall into difficult situations. =)
Interesting.. very interesting.
